Ang Buhay Ni Galileo

Idinerehe ni Rody Vera
Disenyo ni Brenda Fajardo
Isinulat ni Bertolt Brecht
Isinalin ni Alan G. Linoga

"Ang Buhay ni Galileo" delves into the life of one of the more controversial astronomers of the Renaissance who was persecuted for defying the Church's idea that the sun revolved around the Earth. Galileo used the telescope as his instrument in bringing about radical changes in man's idea about the universe. He confirmed the Copernican theory that the Sun was the center of the solar system, and he moved on to discover four of the satellites of Jupiter, the irregularity of the surface of the moon, the sunspots, the moon-like phases of the planet Venus. Such events only brought him the ire of the Inquisition whereupon he wrote the Discorsi, the discourses on the science of mechanics and motion.

Brecht's Galileo is a man so consumed by his search for truth that it dulls his sensibilities towards even those closest to him. (When Galileo learns that his daughter's suitor has just deserted her, he turns to his colleagues and says, "Let's get on with our experiment.") Despite his passionate devotion to scientific pursuit, Galileo retains an all-too-human lust for life and its sensuous pleasures, particularly gluttonous.

"Ang Buhay ni Galileo" is directed by Rody Vera, Adapted by Alan Glinoga, Set and Costume Design by Brenda Fajardo, Set and Costume Execution by Boni Juan, Musical Direction by Dodjie Fernandez and Lights Design by Ian Torqueza. "Ang Buhay ni Galileo" features Joel Lamangan, Upeng Galang Fernandez, Randy Villarama, Jojo Atienza, Jack Yabut, Gold Villar Lim, Roi Calilong, Gie Onida, Shé Maala, Kiki Baento, Archi Adamos, Bodjie Pascua, Boy Aquino, Bene Manaois, Joseph Madriaga, Fredyl Hernadez, Norbs Portales, Manny Pambid, Jason Barcial, John Moran, Ian Segarra, Neomi Gonzales, Noel Comia, and Omar Uddin.
