About the Venue:
The Tanghalang Francisco Balagtas, more commonly known by its original name
of Folk Arts Theater, this covered proscenium amphitheater is where popular
concerts are usually staged. It has a seating capacity of 8,458 in ten sections. The theater
takes its name form Francisco Baltazar also known as Francisco Balagtas,
revered as one of the country's greatest poets. Florante at Laura is one of his
best known and most beloved works and his poetry Balagtasismo has shaped generations
of Filipino poets. The popular debate in verse, balagtasan is also named after him.
The building was commissioned by First Lady Imelda Marcos in 1974 for the Miss
Universe Pageant, which was to be held in Manila. The theater was built in seventy-seven
days and was designed by Leandro V. Locsin.

How to get there:
From the airport : Take a car or taxi towards Roxas Boulevard
and get in the u-turn lane. On the same road, make a right onto Coastal
Shopping Mall, then right onto President Macapagal Boulevard
and head straight on for the Cultural Centre of the Philippines Complex.
From LRT Station of Vito Cruz : Below LRT station of Vito Cruz,
take VITO CRUZ road (going Roxas Blvd.), it will lead you to PEDRO BUKANEG
road which is an access to CCP Complex area.
If you dont have a private vehicle, from Vito Cruz LRT station -
walk to VITO CRUZ going Roxas Blvd. - before RIZAL MEMORIAL STADIUM
there's a vehicle (jeepney type) that will lead you to CCP complex area,
just inform the driver about your desired destination.
